Shizuoka City Shimizu Cultural Hall Marinart Main Hall

Shizuoka City Shimizu Cultural Hall, affectionately known as Marinart, is situated in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, near the port area. It is approximately a 15-minute walk from JR Shimizu Station, with convenient public transport access. The facility's main hall opened in 1994 and is operated by Shizuoka City. Designed as a multi-purpose concert hall, it features a shoebox-style architecture with a total capacity of 1,033 fixed seats distributed across the orchestra level and two tiers of balconies, offering generally clear sightlines to the stage from most positions. The hall is renowned for its fine acoustics, making it a preferred venue for classical concerts, recitals, and mid-sized popular music events. The standard stage setup accommodates various performance types. Over the years, it has hosted numerous domestic and international classical musicians, orchestras, as well as Japanese pop and enka artists, establishing itself as a key cultural hub in the Shizuoka region.
