National Yoyogi Stadium First Gymnasium is a 13,291-capacity multipurpose indoor arena in Shibuya's Yoyogi district, designed by Kenzo Tange for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics where it hosted swimming and diving. Its signature suspended-cable roof spans the column-free floor and is widely recognized as one of the defining works of 20th-century Japanese architecture. Since the 1964 Games the venue has hosted concerts, martial-arts events, gymnastics, and basketball, and returned as an Olympic venue in 2020 for handball and wheelchair rugby. A 5-minute walk from Harajuku Station (JR Yamanote) or Meiji-Jingumae (Tokyo Metro Chiyoda/Fukutoshin), it routinely anchors Tokyo legs of J-pop and K-pop tours alongside visiting ballet and dance productions.
Do not judge a listing by price alone. Check the ticket area, floor, standing or reserved-seat setup, restricted-view notes, entrance, start time, and group arrival plan together. Stage direction, runways, barriers, screens, and temporary seats can change by event, so a normal seating map may not fully describe the view. For cross-city trips, prepare last-train options, lodging, lockers, and post-show walking routes before the event day. TIXVOY will keep strengthening this venue page with official address data, map evidence, venue policies, and real order-support issues.
