PARCO presents the first Japanese stage adaptation of Patrice Leconte’s film The Hairdresser’s Husband, adapted and directed by Mai Ishiguro. The story moves to a small barbershop in Ibaraki in the 1950s, using the local dialect to explore the joy and fragility of love. A man who has dreamed since childhood of marrying a woman who cuts hair meets a hairdresser and marries her. Their quiet life unfolds amid the distinctive visitors to the shop. The cast includes Shota Yasuda, Eriko Nakamura, Tomomi Maruyama, Fusako Urabe and Jin Muraki. The production visits Tokyo, Hiroshima and Osaka.
