Casual Meets Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet OC

Fumiya Matsuzaki adapts and directs Shakespeare’s tragedy for contemporary Japanese audiences, following two young lovers caught between feuding families. The production runs at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre’s Theatre West from September 25 to October 4, 2026. O performances use Original Cast casting aligned with the characters’ genders; C performances use Cross Cast casting with the actors’ genders reversed relative to their roles. Each performance has its own version. Seating is reserved in S, A and B categories; the expected running time is about 120 minutes without an interval.
