About Tomoharu Ushida
Tomoharu Ushida is a Japanese pianist born in Iwaki, Fukushima, in 1999. In 2012, aged twelve, he won first prize at the Hamamatsu International Piano Academy Competition and became the youngest Japanese classical pianist at the time to release a recording through Universal Music Japan. His later distinctions include second prize, the audience award and the Mayor of Warsaw Prize at the 2018 Hamamatsu International Piano Competition, the 2019 Idemitsu Music Award, the 2024 Leeds International Piano Competition audience award and the 2025 Chopin Society of Japan Award.
