About Tinariwen
Tinariwen are a Tuareg band formed in the late 1970s by Ibrahim Ag Alhabib and fellow musicians in southern Algeria, with roots in northern Mali. Their songs first circulated across the Sahara on copied cassettes. “The Radio Tisdas Sessions” became their first internationally released album in 2001, and the group later won a Grammy Award for “Tassili.”
