About Tadaaki Otaka
Tadaaki Otaka is a Japanese conductor born in Kamakura in 1947. He studied with Hideo Saito at Toho Gakuen and continued his training in Vienna, making his professional broadcast debut with the NHK Symphony Orchestra in 1971. He served for many years as Permanent Conductor of the Tokyo Philharmonic and as Principal Conductor of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Since 2018 he has been Music Director of the Osaka Philharmonic and is Permanent Conductor of the NHK Symphony Orchestra.
