About Mischa Maisky
Mischa Maisky is a cellist born in Riga, Latvia, in 1948. After studying at the Leningrad Conservatory, he became a pupil of Mstislav Rostropovich at the Moscow Conservatory. Following his move to Israel, he also studied with Gregor Piatigorsky, making him the only cellist taught by both masters.
