Kumiko

Kumiko is a Japanese singer who began her professional career in 1982 at Ginpari, the celebrated chanson venue in Ginza, Tokyo. She gained broad attention with “Waga Uruwashiki Koi Monogatari” in 2002 and made her first appearance on NHK’s Kōhaku Uta Gassen in 2010 with “INORI.” She has continued to perform Japanese chanson, translated repertoire and original songs, while “Hiroi Kawa no Kishibe — The Water Is Wide” became another enduring signature recording.
