About Hajime Chitose
Hajime Chitose is a Japanese singer from Amami Oshima in Kagoshima Prefecture. She learned the sanshin and Amami shima-uta from childhood and won the top prize at the Amami Folk Song Awards while still in high school. She made her major-label debut in 2002 with “Wadatsumi no Ki,” a number-one single, followed by the chart-topping debut album “Hainumikaze.”
