EGO-WRAPPIN’

EGO-WRAPPIN’ is a musical unit formed in Osaka, Japan, in 1996 by vocalist, lyricist and songwriter Yoshie Nakano and guitarist-composer Masaki Mori. The pair first worked mainly in the Kansai region before relocating their base to Tokyo. Their 2000 release “Shikisai no Blues” blended prewar jazz, cabaret music and Showa-era popular song into a contemporary setting and became a long-running success that brought nationwide recognition. They have since remained active with a two-person creative core, varied supporting musicians, genre-crossing records, headline concerts, festivals and recurring year-end performances.
