About Claudio Bohórquez
Claudio Bohórquez is a German-born cellist of Peruvian and Uruguayan heritage who studied with Boris Pergamenschikow. His early successes included the Tchaikovsky Youth Competition and the Rostropovich Cello Competition, followed by first prize at the Geneva International Music Competition in 1995. In 2000 he won first prize and the chamber-music distinction at the inaugural International Pablo Casals Competition, establishing his international solo career.
