About Chubu Philharmonic Orchestra
The Chubu Philharmonic Orchestra is a professional Japanese orchestra based in Komaki, Aichi Prefecture. It was founded in 2000 as the Komaki City Symphony Orchestra, gained non-profit status in 2001 and adopted its present name in 2007, the year it joined the Association of Japanese Symphony Orchestras. Developed for many years under the guidance of the late conductor Kazuyoshi Akiyama, it presents regular and special concerts primarily across Japan’s Chubu region.
