About Alan Gilbert
Alan Gilbert is an American conductor born in New York. His eight-year tenure as Music Director of the New York Philharmonic ended in 2017. He became Chief Conductor of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra in 2019 and Music Director of the Royal Swedish Opera in 2021, working across symphonic and operatic repertoire.
